As well as learning to drive and passing your practical driving test you will also need to pass the theory test. This has to be done before you are able to book your practical test.
The theory test is made up of 2 parts. The first part is a 50 question multiple choice test made up of questions that test your knowledge of the Highway Code, road signs, safety and your vehicle and many more areas. The pass mark for this part of the test is 43 out of 50. The second part is the hazard perception where you will be shown 14 clips that in total show 15 hazards. Each of the hazards have a maximum mark of 5 if identified at the correct time. This gives this section a possible maximum score of 75 the pass mark for this part is 44 out of 75.
To pass the theory test you must pass both sections in one attempt. Failing to meet the required mark in either section will lead to a failure of the test and a need to rebook another test at a later date
